All staff at the Bridge have been trained in team teach. This approach emphasises de-escalation techniques and supports us in the management of many challenging situations and behaviours.
Positive touch and safe handling are interventions that staff at the Bridge use on a regular basis. Restraint is used if a learner is at risk of damaging themselves, an adult or the building. All learners who are at risk of physical intervention have their own agreed Physical Handling Plan (PHP)
